Five people from one family went to war

Hashimovs are one of the surnames who joined the 44-day war as a family. Five members of this family from Boladi village of Lankaran region have a share in the victory. Fikret and Araz Hashimov, who also took part in the First Karabakh War, were joined by their nephews Galib, Alim and Taleh Hashimov in the Patriotic War.
Four of the Hashimovs are military pilots, and one served in the Air Defense System's air defense system. Mirasgar Hashimov, who sent his family members to the front, told Qafqazinfo: "My two brothers and three sons are officers of our national army, each of them has the rank of major. My brothers Araz and Fikret graduated from the Perm Military Aviation School.
My boys also looked at their uncles and chose the profession of pilot. As a child, they watched with interest the planes flying in the sky, saying that Uncle Fikret or Uncle Araz were flying. We will grow up and fly. I did not stop them. I said if you want to be a pilot, go. If they benefit the Motherland, why not? My brothers piloted a cargo plane and helped provide the army during the war. My boys Galib and Taleh are fighter pilots. The scientist serves in the Air Defense System. He played a major role in neutralizing the missiles fired by the enemy into the country.
