In connection with the "Caspian Day", work is underway to clean the coastal strip of the Caspian Sea belonging to Azerbaijan from north to south.
One of such events took place today at the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR) in the Caspian coastal sanitary protection zone of Absheron National Park.
The purpose of the event is to increase the role of the public in improving the environmental situation in the Caspian Sea and to strengthen cooperation with all segments of society in the protection of the unique values of the Caspian Sea.
Employees of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Caspian Television and the Water Transport Police, representatives of the UN Development Program, the Republican Child and Youth Development Center of the Ministry of Education, "Nargis" magazine, "EcoSfera" Social and Ecological Center, modern Representatives of creative arts and eco-volunteers took part.
During the action, which focused on the protection of the Caspian Sea from pollution, restoration and protection of fish stocks, about 10 hectares were cleared of plastic and other household waste, the waste was sorted and transported.
The event dedicated to Caspian Day continued in Absheron National Park.
Here, the participants were shown creative examples of the "Create Your Own" contest, descriptions of environmental projects of the "Nargis" magazine, examples of creative art created by modern artists from waste in the installation genre, natural collages from natural resources.
It should be noted that since the entry into force of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea on August 12, 2006, August 12 has been marked as "Caspian Day" every year.
