Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia and Turkey have different approaches to resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but eventually managed to come to a common denominator. According to Gadin.Net, this was reported by Interfax. He recalled that at the beginning of the conflict, when Ankara said that a military solution to the conflict was possible, the Russian side did not agree with Turkey's actions.
"But now an agreement has been reached through the efforts of President Putin and his colleagues - the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia," Lavrov said. He stressed that both Russia and Turkey are finding points of contact and ways to come to a common denominator, as in the case of Nagorno-Karabakh.
"I am convinced that the relationship between Russia and Turkey is an example of the two independent countries working to achieve their goals, not bowing to anyone, not accepting ultimatums and not subject to external pressure. "Turkey's membership in NATO is not an obstacle to relations between the two countries," Lavrov said. Lavrov added that Russia and Turkey have different approaches to the situation in Libya, but the influence of the two countries on the parties to the conflict contributes to positive results.
