"The issue of closing the subway until August 31 remains in force. There are opinions on technical, epidemiological and metro ventilation systems.
The statement came from Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, at a press conference held by the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, Gadin.Net reported.
He said that the opinion of experts is that in the presence of an underground, narrow and centralized ventilation system, the virus can re-emerge, and thus the infection can increase:
"Therefore, the launch of the subway is not considered expedient."
