There is a negative public opinion about palm oil. With the help of the media, the oil was labeled "dangerous" and "harmful." But this is not the case. The source of palm oil is the African palm tree. Malaysia and Indonesia are the main producers of this oil. The fruit of the palm oil is a plum-shaped fruit with a hard skin.
Under the hard skin there is a soft fibrous fruit flesh. Palm oil is produced from the flesh of this fruit. Thus, palm oil is a completely natural product. Freshly squeezed palm oil is yellow-orange in color and gives a pleasant taste. The scent of the oil is similar to the scent of a violet flower. Freshly squeezed oil can be used only in cosmetics, soaps, toothpastes, creams, etc. used in the manufacture of products. Refined and refined palm oil is used in the food industry. Most palm oil (80%) is used for food. Palm oil is used in the preparation of dishes, salads, food industry.
In the food industry, palm oil is widely used around the world in the production of ice cream, chocolate, chips, ready-made porridge, flour products (biscuits, waffles, cakes, etc.). Palm oil is included in many artificial baby foods ("smes"). The production and quality of artificial dairy products are closely monitored around the world. It is impossible to use low-quality, harmful, toxic substances and raw materials in these foods. If this happens, it will cause a big scandal in the world. Palm oil for food does not contain dangerous trans fats. By the way, the margarine we use more often than palm oil is very rich in trans fats. However, for some reason, margarine, which is a real danger to human health, is not criticized.
The most beneficial part of fats are polyunsaturated fatty acids. The amount of these beneficial substances in palm oil is lower than in other vegetable oils, but, for example, it is higher than in butter. Palm oil is also rich in vitamin E. Thus, it is incorrect to consider palm oil intended for food (specially refined and processed) as "harmful" and "dangerous". Of course, if a person constantly and in excessive amounts consumes candy and other sweets containing palm oil (or any other fat), it will not go unnoticed for his health. But palm oil is not to blame here.
