A glass factory will be launched in Sumgayit this year.
This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev at the opening of the Vocational Training Center under the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park.
The head of state said:
"Today, Sumgayit is not only the second largest industrial center in Azerbaijan, but also in the South Caucasus. The potential of Sumgayit is growing. A glass factory will be launched here this year. Large investments have been made there and will provide us with glass. has declined somewhat, but it is being restored and will be done. We will provide ourselves with local glass. This is also a great achievement.
We must meet domestic demand as much as possible at the expense of local products. The city of Sumgayit and especially the Chemical Industrial Park have an important role to play here. Because we have achieved this in recent years. Our main task now is to look where we have greater dependence on imports, and if it is possible to replace it, if there is raw material for it, or if the feasibility study allows it, we must pay close attention to these areas. Companies that take such an initiative should be given resident status, at the same time, they should be supported by the state, soft loans should be allocated so that we can minimize our dependence on imports. Because every country strives for it, and especially the country with a growing population - Azerbaijan must work for it. "
