 Turkish nutritionist Serkan Tutar says that the food eaten in the evening directly affects sleep.
The doctor says that eating food that is difficult to digest and stays in the stomach for a long time near bedtime causes many health problems. S. Tutan listed the foods that are forbidden to eat in the evening as follows:

Chocolate
Chocolate is a delicious food to eat at any time of the day. Although delicious, the chocolate you eat before going to bed at night is one of the reasons that prevent you from having a good night's sleep. There is an excess of caffeine in chocolate, which deprives people of sleep and gives them extra energy. This leads to an increase in heart rate and impaired sleep quality. However, white chocolate is less effective in this respect than dark chocolate.


Red meat
If your dinner is left after 20:00, then it is not right to include red meat in your menu. Due to its hard content and high protein content, red meat, which keeps you full for a long time, occurs in the human intestinal system when you sleep. This leads to sleep disorders.

Alcoholic beverages
In fact, it is a common misconception that alcohol causes sleep deprivation. Alcohol causes insomnia and restless sleep. There is no deep sleep during drinking and frequent awakenings. People who often do not drink alcohol, on the other hand, drink in the evening, which irritates the nerves, and this situation creates more demand for alcohol. If you want to sleep comfortably, avoid alcohol.


Garlic
We often avoid eating foods that contain garlic in the evening. Although there are many reasons for this, the real reason is sleep disorders and poor sleep quality. The real cause of garlic sleep deprivation is irritation. Keep in mind that it can cause problems such as reflexes, especially in sensitive stomachs.

Cereals eaten in the morning
Many people prefer cereals for breakfast for a quick meal. Sometimes they eat before going to bed at night because of the high calorie content. However, one of the reasons for sleep deprivation is cereals for breakfast. Eating whole grains before bedtime results in poor sleep.

Candy
The candies you eat during the day are also factors that can disrupt your sleep at night. Studies have shown that 7 out of 10 people who eat candy before going to bed at night can not sleep comfortably. This situation proves that it is not recommended to eat sweets before going to bed at night.
