The Italian historian and economist Carlo Chipolla found a very precise approach to the question of the nature of stupidity. His many years of research led him to the conclusion that he had developed five universal laws that are valid in any society. It turns out that stupidity is more dangerous than you think. In terms of content, I share with you the small nuances of the article written by a well-known economist:
The first law of stupidity: Man cannot fully appreciate the fools around him. No matter how trivial it may seem, life shows the opposite. No matter how much you try to evaluate people, you will always be confronted with the following situations: Sometimes a person who looks smart and rational is actually a very stupid person;
Stupid people always appear in unexpected places, when they are not needed, as long as they ruin your plans. The second law of stupidity: A person's stupidity does not depend on his other characteristics. Through years of observation and experience, it has become clear that people are not equal: some of them are fools and others are not. It was determined by human nature and was not formed for cultural reasons. Just as a person is brown and has the first group of blood, he is also a fool. That is its nature. The number of idiots living in society has nothing to do with education. This has been confirmed by many inspections and experiments. Analyzing a group of low-ranking employees, the scientist found that the number of idiots was higher than expected (First Law). He concluded that this was due to poverty, racism and illiteracy. However, when he climbed the social ladder, he observed the same ratio among people with white collars and students. What was more impressive was the fact that he saw this situation among the professors. The scientist was so amazed that he began to experiment among the intellectual elite, including the Nobel laureates. The result is that the scientist confirms the superpower of nature: that is, some of the winners were fools. No matter how difficult it may be to accept the idea put forward by the second law, experience confirms its irony. The third law of stupidity: A fool is a person whose behavior causes another person or group to miss something. At the same time, the fool himself is not harmed, or this harm does not return to him indirectly. The third law presupposes that people are divided into four groups: ordinary people, the wise, the robbers, and the foolish. If Akif does something and it causes loss, and Mahmud benefits from it, then Akif belongs to ordinary people.
If Akif does something that will benefit both himself and Mahmud, then he is wise. Because he worked smart. If Akif does something, and as a result Mahmud loses, and he gains, then Akif is a robber. Finally, the last section is about stupidity. There is no doubt that if idiots work in government, the extent of the damage they cause will be. But the main thing is to know what makes a fool dangerous? Stupid people are dangerous because intelligent people cannot find an explanation for their illogical behavior. A wise man understands the logic of a robber. Because the robber wants to make more money. Although he is not smart enough to earn it himself. It is possible to predict the work of a robber and prevent it. But it is impossible to predict the actions of a fool. He can strike you without a reason, without a goal, without a plan, unexpectedly. You don't have the power to predict that. A fool always catches a person unexpectedly. Even if the attack is clear, it is impossible to defend oneself against it. Because it is not based on a rational structure. The fourth law of stupidity: Non-fools underestimate the destructive potential of fools. Usually non-fools forget that being with a fool at any time, anywhere, and under any circumstances means making a mistake. It will manifest itself in the future. Ordinary people often do not realize what fools are capable of. This is not surprising. Surprisingly, fools are not taken seriously by even the smartest and thugs. They leave themselves with a fool, they are proud of their intellectual abilities. On the contrary, they had to be mobilized and prepare themselves to minimize the harm of a fool's behavior. There is a stereotype in society that a fool can only harm himself. No, you should not confuse a fool with a helpless simple man.
There is a stereotype in society that a fool can only harm himself. No, you should not confuse a fool with a helpless simple man. Never enter into an alliance with a fool, thinking that you will use a fool for your personal statements. If you do, then you probably do not understand the nature of stupidity. By doing so, you create a challenge for the fool so that he can move around comfortably and deal a big blow. The fifth law of stupidity: A fool is the most dangerous type of personality. A fool is more dangerous than a robber. The result of a robber's action is the transfer of a benefit from one person to another. There is no heat or cold for society in general. If the whole of society were a bandit and a robber, it would rot quietly, but there would be no catastrophe. The whole system would fall into such a state that wealth would fall into the hands of those who would strive for it. So everyone would become an ideal bandit. This can be seen in any country where the ruling circles are deceived by money or other things, and citizens evade the law. But when stupid people appear on the stage, the picture changes completely. They make a loss without making a profit. Happiness is destroyed, society is impoverished. History has shown that the country can only prosper if there are enough intelligent people in the ruling circles, and they control the active idiots and do not allow them to strike at the creation of the intelligent. In declining countries, there are enough fools. Stupid robbers are becoming more and more common. The rest are naive people. Such a division inevitably reinforces the destructive consequences of fools. Thus, the country is in ruins.
