Postpartum depression

Psychological problems can occur in 70-85% of women after childbirth. Studies show that pregnancy and motherhood are open to psychological problems such as anxiety. Biological and hormonal changes, as well as stress factors, prepare the ground for this. After childbirth, grief begins on the 3rd or 4th day, can last from 2 days to 1-2 weeks, and passes. Irregular sleep, crying, sudden changes in emotions, sadness can manifest themselves.

The first 6 weeks after birth are very important. Güngör Meydan said that depression usually starts in the first 6 weeks after birth and can last up to 1 year.
Symptoms of postpartum depression include changes in sleep and appetite, crying, indecision, prolonged sadness, feelings of worthlessness, lack of energy, anger at the baby and those around him, decreased self-care, feelings of guilt. Mothers feel guilty for not being able to look after the baby due to fatigue.
