Why do crows die en masse in Baku?

Mass deaths of birds, especially black crows, have recently been reported in Baku. Readers told the Baku.ws hotline. We visited some parks in the capital to clarify what was said. We met a mass of dead crows in a park near the Academy of Sciences metro station. The situation was similar in the park near the Memar Ajami metro station. Why do crows die en masse? To find the answer to the question, we appealed to the former director of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, Professor Elman Yusifov.
The professor said that the mass death of crows may be due to a number of factors. "One of the reasons for this is the spread of diseases and certain sanitary measures. There used to be a lot of stray dogs, cats and crows. One of the reasons for this was the large amount of garbage. Now the rubbish bins are closed and the waste is collected. Another issue is the presence of diseases. The mass death of crows is actually a regulation of balance in nature. Because crows have multiplied in recent years. Their death will help preserve biodiversity in nature, "said Elman Yusifov. Ornithologist Elchin Sultanov also said that we had never seen so many bird deaths before:
"Actually, the crow we see on the street is a kind of corpse," he said. There may be several reasons for their destruction. One of the main reasons is the disinfection work. Chemicals in the disinfectant solution, the poison is poured on the grass and soil. Worms also live in the soil. Among humans, they are also called worms. Toxic substances spilled on the ground are absorbed by worms. Crows are also poisoned when they eat them. Chemicals and poisons do not affect worms, but birds that feed on them are poisoned. Toxic substances are also absorbed by animals through grass and can cause death.
