The inauguration of the newly elected President of the United States Joseph Biden on January 20 will not be held in the traditional way due to the pandemic. The statement came from a joint committee of the Senate and the US House of Representatives on the swearing-in ceremony on Sunday, TASS reports.
It was noted that, unlike previous inaugurations, this time a small number of participants will be invited to the ceremony and the social distance will be maintained. In addition, due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the organizers canceled the parade on the occasion of the inauguration of the next head of state. Instead, TV companies will broadcast a virtual parade with the participation of musicians, dancers and other actors. After the inauguration, Biden and newly elected US Vice President Kamala Harris will watch the traditional military parade from Capitol Hill.
After that, the military will accompany Biden to the White House. The US presidential election was held on November 3 last year. According to the results, 81.2 million people voted for Biden and 74.2 million for Trump.
