The Hawaiian Islands have banned the sale of sunscreens that contain substances that damage coral reefs.TASS reports that the relevant initiative was approved by local lawmakers in May 2018.
The new law makes Hawaii the first state today to ban the sale of sunscreens containing the chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxant.The only exception in the law is that such products can be sold with a doctor's prescription.
