A healthy man lost his leg after being infected with a coronavirus

A resident of Bournemouth, Dorset, UK, lost his leg after being infected with a coronavirus. This was reported by the Daily Mail. In late October, 56-year-old Lee Mebbett became infected with COVID-19. He lost his ability to taste and his whole body began to ache. After being isolated at home for ten days, Mebbett's health improved.
Mebbet decided to get rid of the disease, but later realized that he could not feel his right leg well. For this reason, he called the specialists of the National Health Service. The doctors advised her to take painkillers. After a few days, the pain in his leg worsened. This time he was advised to call an ambulance. Computed tomography revealed a 15 cm clot in the patient's upper thigh. Surgeons immediately operated on Mebbet's leg to remove the clot and restore blood circulation.
However, a few days later, the patient's toes and heels began to darken. Although Mebbett remained in hospital for 13 days after the operation, his blood circulation was not restored. Doctors decided to amputate the patient's leg in January, and the man was temporarily discharged from the hospital. However, in mid-December, he was taken back to the hospital and amputated because his leg was completely black. Mebbett said he was completely healthy before being infected with the coronavirus. He called on everyone to maintain social distance to avoid contracting the coronavirus
