From next year, everyone will have a family doctor

In 2021, compulsory health insurance will be introduced throughout the country. This was reported by the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance.
According to the information, with the introduction of compulsory health insurance, the insured will be able to benefit from the services of a family doctor. A family doctor (field doctor-therapist, field doctor-pediatrician) is a doctor who provides primary health care to the insured. With the exception of emergency and urgent medical care, a citizen should first consult a family doctor regarding health problems. After examining / treating a citizen, the family doctor will refer you to a qualified doctor if you need qualified medical care. The process of selecting a family doctor and registration in the state medical institution for primary health care is carried out on the basis of the "Rules of admission of the insured to the state medical institution for primary health care."
Thus, in order to choose a family doctor, the insured must apply to the state medical institution (polyclinic / Family Health Center / rural doctor's office) that provides the nearest primary health care in the area where he / she lives. He must fill in the application form and submit to the registrar, along with the application, an identity card, as well as a registration document at his address. He is registered at the insured medical institution by choosing a family doctor. The insured family is free to choose a doctor and change without restrictions. However, the insured cannot apply for registration at two or more medical institutions at the same time.
A citizen may change his / her registered medical institution at his / her own request after at least 1 (one) calendar year from the date of registration. In case of change of the person's place of residence, the medical institution in the new area must apply for registration without taking into account the above-mentioned time limit.
