The defendants were re-tried in 2011 during an armed attack in which Ibrahim Tatlises was seriously wounded.Gadin.Net reports with reference to the Turkish media that 4 out of 12 accused prisoners attacked Tatlises' assistant and driver during the incident, and their sentences were reconsidered.
According to the court's decision, Emin Birdal was sentenced to 15 to 22 years in prison, while Abdullah Uchmak, Ersin Altun and Yunus Ayika were sentenced to 26 to 40 years in prison for premeditated murder.It should be noted that in the previous trial in the Istanbul Court of Grave Crimes, each of the 12 convicts was sentenced to 3 to 36 years in prison.
