Adila Namazova was born on September 9, 1926 in Seyidli village of Aghdam region. After graduating from high school, he studied at the pediatric faculty of the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute in 1944–1949. Adila Namazova, who started her career in 1949, worked as the head of the Children's Medical Clinic in Aghdam region from that time until 1953. In 1954–1957 he studied at the postgraduate course of the Central Institute for the Improvement of Physicians of the Ministry of Health of the USSR in Moscow. He was a doctoral student at the Pediatric Research Institute of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Adila Namazova, who joined the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute in 1965, worked here as the head of the Department of Pediatrics until the end of her life. Adila Namazova defended her PhD in medical sciences in 1959, her doctoral dissertation in 1965, and was awarded the title of professor in 1966. He was elected a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in 1971, and a full member of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences in 1983. Academician Adila Namazova has a special contribution to the teaching of medical science in Azerbaijan and its enrichment with new achievements. For many years, his research in various fields of medical science has brought him wide fame in our country and abroad. Adila Namazova is one of the founders of the scientific school of pediatrics in the republic. The main directions of the scientist's productive scientific activity aimed at protecting children's health are related to the improvement of methods of diagnosis and treatment of rheumatism and heart defects in children.
Thanks to these scientific works, the clinical features of congenital defects of the heart wall were studied, and the criteria for the possibility of surgical treatment in the conditions of artificial circulation were determined. At the same time, these studies have opened up vast opportunities for further fundamental research and the application of new treatments. The scientist also contributed to medical science with his practical recommendations based on the use of various methods. Adila Namazova had commendable services in the organization of modern forms of medical care in the country. Adila Namazova is the author of more than 400 scientific works, including 30 monographs, textbooks and teaching aids, inventions and rationalization proposals.
The scientist's works published in foreign languages were appreciated by the scientific community. Demonstrating rich knowledge and skills during her many years of pedagogical activity, Adila Namazova paid special attention to the training of highly trained specialists. Under his leadership, about 60 doctors of medical sciences and doctors of philosophy in medicine were trained for our republic and foreign countries.
The scientist deservedly represented the modern medical science of Azerbaijan with his speeches on topical issues of pediatrics at prestigious international forums. Adila Namazova, an effective public figure, was a People's Deputy of the USSR in 1988-1992, as well as a member of a number of international scientific societies. Academician Adila Namazova's services in the development of medicine and training of highly qualified medical personnel in our country have been duly appreciated by the state. He was awarded the "Glory" and "Honor" orders, one of the highest awards of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan, and was awarded the "Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
