China's first suspension railway bridge has been opened in the eastern province of Tszansu.The bridge also broke the world record for the maximum allowable train speed, Xinhua reported.
The total length of the Ufenshan bridge is 6.4 km, and the length of the main road over the Yantsizi River is 1.92 km. The bridge connects the cities of Yangzhou and Zhengxiang. The construction of the bridge took five years.The upper part of the bridge is designed for four-lane vehicles with a speed of 100 km / h in each direction. In the lower part, high-speed trains run. The design of the bridge allows trains to move at speeds of up to 250 km / h.
