In response to the next military provocation of Armenia against our country on September 27, the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev launched an "iron fist" operation to liberate our lands from occupation. By the decrees signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev on December 9, servicemen of the Armed Forces were awarded the “Hero of the Patriotic War”, “Victory” and “Karabakh” orders, and three servicemen were awarded the “National Hero of Azerbaijan” honorary titles. It is an indicator of the highest appreciation of the selflessness and courage of the heroic sons of our country. One of the heroic sons of the Motherland, awarded the title of "National Hero of Azerbaijan", is the hero of the Tovuz battles, the martyred Major General Polad Hashimov. In connection with the awarding of our martyred General Polad Hashimov with the honorary title of "National Hero of Azerbaijan", Abdullah Gurbani, a friend of our brave serviceman, Honored Art Worker, honorary pensioner of the President, participant of the Great Patriotic War, went to Sumgayit and met with Samaya.
During the conversation, it was noted that the road to the Patriotic War passed through the martyrdom of sons like Polad Hashimov. As our heroic warriors liberated villages, towns and settlements one after another, destroyed their enemies, and took revenge on our martyrs many times over, they came closer to victory. The fighters even wrote the names of Hazi Aslanov, Mubariz Ibrahimov, Albert Agarunov, as well as General Polad Hashimov on the tanks and other armored vehicles they were driving. It was the dream of General Polad Hashimov to liberate our lands from occupation and ensure the territorial integrity of our republic, which became a symbol of heroism. The mother of the martyred general thanked the country's leadership and people for the respect shown to her son's memory. Colonel Abdullah Gurbani presented a portrait of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev with Polad Hashimov and other photo carpets to the martyr's mother.
