A campaign has been launched in the UK to buy and renovate the house where the famous writer John Tolkien wrote The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. According to the project's website, 4.5 million pounds (10.2 million manat) must be raised within three months, otherwise the building will go on sale.
According to Qadin.Net, this was reported by the Daily Mail. Tolkien moved to his home in Oxford in 1930 and lived there for 17 years while teaching at the university. Currently, the owner of the building is someone else. The decision to save the house belongs to Julia Golding. He wants to renovate the facility and turn it into the Tolkien Museum. There will also be a cultural center and a meeting place for artists. Golding's initiative was supported by actors Ian McKellen (Gendalf), Martin Freeman (Bilbo Beggins) and John Reese-Davis (Gimli) from The Lord of the Rings.
