President: "Azerbaijani Army responds appropriately to" Karabakh is Armenia "claim"

Over the past two years, Armenia has purposefully destroyed the negotiation process. The Armenian Prime Minister ended the talks with a number of provocative statements, such as "Karabakh is Armenia." The Armenian Defense Minister called for a "new war for new territories." The statement came from President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a speech at a special session of the UN General Assembly at the level of heads of state and government dedicated to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in New York on December 3. The President said that in July of this year, Armenia committed a military provocation on the state border in order to create a new source of tension in the region, occupy new territories and strike at Azerbaijan's strategic energy infrastructure projects:
"Then, in August, an Armenian sabotage group tried to cross the line of contact. During my speech at the UN General Assembly on September 24, I warned that Armenia was preparing for a new war. On September 27, Armenia launched a large-scale military provocation against Azerbaijan. Tartar and other cities near the Azerbaijani war zone have been under heavy artillery fire by the Armenian armed forces for 44 days. Armenia has used ballistic missiles against Ganja, Barda, Mingachevir, Gabala, Siyazan and other cities far from the war zone. Armenia has used heavy artillery, ballistic missiles, white phosphorus and cluster munitions to inflict heavy casualties and expel Azerbaijani civilians. As a result, 94 civilians, including 11 children, were killed and more than 400 were injured.
The Azerbaijani Army responded to this, launched a successful counter-offensive in defense of the country's citizens and territory, and liberated a large part of the occupied territories. Victory in military operations forced the occupier to surrender. As a result of the signing of a trilateral statement by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia and the Prime Minister of Armenia on November 10, other occupied territories of Azerbaijan were also liberated. In his speech, the President noted that the ceasefire has been observed for about a month since the signing of the trilateral statement: "Turkey and Russia play an important role in ensuring a ceasefire through the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Center. Thus, the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has been resolved by military-political means. Due to the disregard for international law, the forcible implementation of UN Security Council resolutions was inevitable. As a result, the aggressor state was forced to make peace. "
