Joint Statement on Karabakh by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs

The heads of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs made a statement on Karabakh. A statement issued following the first day of the 27th meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers said that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, and US Secretary of State John Kerry had not commented on the report.
According to the joint statement of the President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Russia dated November 9, 2020, Deputy Steven Bigan welcomed the end of military operations in the Karabakh conflict region. It also emphasizes the importance of the parties' compliance with the provisions of international humanitarian law on the mutual transfer of prisoners of war and the bodies of those killed. "The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs stressed the need to create conditions for the voluntary and safe return of people displaced during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as recent military operations, and the importance of preserving historical and religious heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding areas." - is stated in the statement. The statement also called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to take advantage of the current ceasefire to reach a long-term peace agreement under the auspices of the co-chairs.
