Russia hopes that UNESCO experts will soon visit Nagorno-Karabakh to assess the preservation of Christian and Muslim shrines. According to TASS, the statement was made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov at a briefing.
"We expect that the mission, prepared in cooperation with the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides with the participation of UNESCO's partners in the field of protection and preservation of monuments, will soon be able to visit the area and assess the situation objectively," Zakharov said.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman, UNESCO experts will be able to answer all questions related to the security and current state of Christian and Muslim shrines in the region.
