Chief infectious disease specialist: "Late hospitalization of patients leads to an increase in deaths"

The recent increase in deaths from new strains of coronavirus infection is directly related to the increase in the number of infections. The statement came from Tayyar Eyvazov, chief infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health, Gadin.Net reports. According to him, as the number of patients increases, the number of people suffering from severe and very severe diseases increases accordingly.
On the other hand, the late hospitalization of a number of patients treated at home without medical supervision after the aggravation of their condition leads to a certain increase in mortality. However, the chief infectious disease specialist believes that in general, the average mortality rate from new coronavirus infections in Azerbaijan is lower than in many countries. It should be noted that currently the death rate from coronavirus in Azerbaijan is 1.1% of all infections.
