The agenda of the special session of the UN General Assembly to be held on the initiative of Ilham Aliyev has been announced

The UN General Assembly will hold a special session on the COVID-19 pandemic. Gadin.Net reports that this was reported to APA by the UN Office in Azerbaijan. It was noted that at the 31st special session of the Assembly, which will be chaired by UN General Assembly President Volkan Bozkir on December 3-4, world leaders, UN officials and experts will discuss key aspects of the COVID-19 panemia, vaccine distribution and socio-economic issues. "COVID-19 is a global health crisis.
It is also an economic crisis, a development crisis, a humanitarian crisis and a human rights crisis. This has exposed structural inequality and disproportionately affected the most vulnerable members of our societies. The special session provides a historic opportunity for us to come together to defeat COVID-19. With trillions of dollars flowing into the news of vaccinations under approval and a global recovery effort, the international community has had an unprecedented opportunity to do just that.
The world expects UN leadership; this is a test for versatility. I believe that the General Assembly will pave the way forward and put an end to the suffering and hardship of the people we serve, "said Volkan Bozkir, President of the UN General Assembly. The two-day special session will include general discussions on December 3 and interactive dialogues with experts, UN agencies and leading scientists on December 4. On the first day of the session, the President of the UN General Assembly, the UN Secretary-General, the Presidents of the Economic and Social Council and the Security Council, the Chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement will deliver speeches.
On the second day of the session, there will be a three-panel discussion on the presentation of the Director-General of the World Health Organization, health and humanitarian response, vaccine development and socio-economic recovery. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, current chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement, initiated the holding of a special session on the COVID-19 pandemic at the UN General Assembly.
