"Visits to the territory of Azerbaijan, including its Nagorno-Karabakh region, must be agreed with the Azerbaijani government." Leyla Abdullayeva, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said this in response to foreign media reports that a group of French MPs will visit Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as hold meetings there to assess the humanitarian situation.
L.Abdullayeva said that the official position of the Republic of Azerbaijan on visits to its sovereign territory within its internationally recognized borders is clear: "This position remains unchanged. Visits to the territory of Azerbaijan, including its Nagorno-Karabakh region, must be agreed with the Azerbaijani government. Those who violate the legislation of Azerbaijan face appropriate sanctions and their future visits to the territory of Azerbaijan are restricted.
