For the first time, a large aquaterrarium will be created in the territory of the Baku Zoo. The director of the park Azer Huseynov said in an interview with Sputnik Azerbaijan:
"Currently, work is underway in the aquaterrarium. It is being built by Aqua Logo, a member of the Moscow Eurasian Zoos and Aquariums Association. I think it will be very nice. Crocodiles, squirrels, snakes and leopards will live in the aquaterrarium. Later, it is planned to build two large aquariums for different fish species. He noted that so far there has not been a single large aquarium in Azerbaijan: "A special observation unit will be built in the form of a corridor." According to Huseynov, the new residents will soon start living in the renovated zoo. Construction of the new zoo began in 2018 with the support of the IDEA Public Union. The initiator of the reconstruction is Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
