On November 28, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Azerbaijan, heads of representations of international organizations in our country visited the city of Agdam, liberated from the Armenian occupation. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint diplomats with the atrocities and crimes committed by the Armenian armed forces in the city of Agdam, Gadin.Net reports. The diplomats were accompanied by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, and other officials. The diplomats got acquainted with the results of war crimes committed by Armenia in Agdam. They have witnessed the vandalism committed by Armenians here for 27 years. It was reported that Armenians savagely destroyed settlements, cemeteries, historical and cultural monuments in Agdam. Hikmet Hajiyev said that along with the representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Karabakh football club in Agdam and representatives of religious denominations are also taking part in the visit. "Karabakh" has already arrived in its native Agdam after many years of waiting. The presidential aide said that UN Security Council Resolution 853, adopted in 1993, strongly condemned the occupation of Agdam and demanded the withdrawal of Armenian troops. Since then, Armenia has not withdrawn its troops from Agdam. Agdam, one of the most prosperous regions of Azerbaijan, was completely destroyed. The world community already sees these atrocities committed by Armenians as real. Armenian vandalism is obvious. While the ethnic cleansing committed against the people of Aghdam is called genocide under international law, the atrocities committed against the city can be called urbicide. This is a term that has characterized the destruction of cities in international relations since 1963. Today, the city of Agdam is a museum of urbicid, ie genocide against the city in the world. The international community sees this. But Azerbaijan will revive Agdam and turn it into a paradise with its constructive policy. Azerbaijan will restore and take care of all the monuments here.
At the same time, Christian monuments destroyed during the Armenian occupation will be restored. They will be protected, and the necessary attention and care will be given as an integral part of human civilization. Today, the presence of representatives of religious denominations in Agdam is a clear example of our country's contribution to multiculturalism, intercultural and interreligious dialogue. We are now symbolically in front of the Aghdam mosque. The head of the Aghdam Region Executive Power, Vagif Hasanov, said that as a result of the wise policy of the head of state, Aghdam was liberated without firing a single shot or killing a single martyr. He said that under the leadership of our President, Aghdam will be restored, the world will see how Azerbaijan is a constructive state, unlike the destructive Armenia, and on behalf of all the people of Aghdam, Muzaffar thanked the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Representatives of religious denominations participating in the visit congratulated the residents of the liberated regions and the entire Azerbaijani people. At the same time, they expressed their sorrow over the destruction. Representatives of religious denominations thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the attention and care shown to them and expressed satisfaction with the multiculturalism in our country. They also thanked the head of state, who considers all the temples in the country to be our historical treasure.
The diplomats were informed that like other historical monuments, the Aghdam mosque, a monument of the 19th century, was looted, burned and destroyed after being occupied by the Armenian armed forces. After the liberation of Aghdam, the mosque was cleaned and the call to prayer was given 27 years later. The diplomats also looked at photos taken by famous photographer Reza Deghati after the 1992 Khojaly tragedy. Then, People's Artist Mansum Ibrahimov sang "Karabakh Tragedy" in front of the remains of the Aghdam Drama Theater. Then the grave of the National Hero of Azerbaijan Allahverdi Bagirov was visited in the Alley of Martyrs in Agdam. It was noted that the Alley of Martyrs was also destroyed by Armenian vandals, and the location of the graves is unknown. There were more than a thousand graves here. They were completely destroyed by Armenians. The diplomats also visited the Bread Museum, the building of Karabakh khan Panahali khan (XVIII century), the tomb of Natava and her son (XIX century). During the visit, the football club "Karabakh" after 27 years played a symbolic football match at home - at the famous "Imarat" stadium.
