Maxim Shevchenko: "I am for justice" - VIDEO

"The Karabakh conflict has never stopped, because the multinational Azerbaijani people would never reconcile with the occupation of Azerbaijani territories." Well-known Russian political scientist Maxim Shevchenko said this while answering questions from journalist Tina Kandelaki on RTV1. According to him, not only Oghuz Turks, but also Jews, Russians, Lezgins, Talyshs, Tats, Sahurs, Udins, Avars, Georgians and even Armenians live in Azerbaijan. Shevchenko cited the words of President Ilham Aliyev that 25 percent of Azerbaijanis lived in Nagorno-Karabakh during the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the rest were Armenians, but the right of Armenians to live there was never taken away.

Shevchenko said he was on the side of justice in the conflict. "Justice is on the side of Azerbaijan," he said. The political scientist called it unreasonable for Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashkina to refer to the descriptions of Herodotus and Pliny the Younger, saying that the borders of the Soviet Union were irrelevant. "Armenia, ruled by Tigran, has never existed. At present, there are modern Azerbaijan and Armenia. I believe that just as the German people suffered from the Third Reich's idea of a "Greater Germany," so the Armenian people have become hostages of a very dangerous and false idea called "Greater Armenia."
