Azerbaijan Food Safety calls on owners of public catering establishments to take measures to combat coronavirus (COVID-19). According to the agency, currently there are increasing statistics on coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the country: "Unfortunately, during the monitoring carried out by the Agency during this period, the facts of non-compliance with the rules by a number of entrepreneurs were revealed, and appropriate administrative fines were imposed. In addition to increasing the number and intensity of monitoring groups, the Agency implements additional tightened control measures. Monitoring is carried out in accordance with the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 237 of July 6, 2020 and No.
160 of May 1, 2020 on the reception of customers during the quarantine period in public catering establishments, as well as the prevention of coronavirus in food trade and catering establishments. is carried out in accordance with the approved methodological guidelines. A special section on the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been created on the agency's website, where all the necessary information for entrepreneurs and consumers has been made public. It should be noted that according to the amendments to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 237, entrepreneurs must strictly follow the approved rules and appoint a relevant responsible person.
In case of non-compliance with the requirements of Article 211.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of anti-epidemic, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes), individuals are fined from two hundred to four hundred manats, officials from three thousand to four thousand manats. or, depending on the circumstances of the case, administrative detention shall be imposed for a period of up to one month, taking into account the identity of the perpetrator, and legal entities shall be fined in the amount of four thousand to ten thousand manats.
"It should be taken into account that it is against the law to operate without registration, and if such enterprises are found during the monitoring, the issue of restricting their activities in accordance with the law will be considered. The agency urges entrepreneurs to adhere to existing rules and intensify efforts to increase measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic, "AQTA said.
