Igor Korotchenko: "France has excluded itself from the OSCE Minsk Group"

The resolution of the French Senate calling for the recognition of the "independence" of the so-called "NKR" regime in the territory of Azerbaijan is a statement on the withdrawal of Paris from the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was stated by Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the magazine "National Defense" Igor Korotchenko in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza. "With this next provocation, France has shown its bias and has excluded itself from the OSCE Minsk Group. On the one hand, the resolution was adopted due to the factor of political corruption of some French MPs and their relations with the Armenian lobby in France. "On the other hand, this is an openly unfriendly action and insult against Azerbaijan," Korotchenko said. "France has not been balanced before and has openly lobbied for Armenia's interests. Now it has been reaffirmed at the level of the majority in the Senate.
"From a legal point of view, the resolution is insignificant, from a political point of view, it is the last attempt to restore France's influence in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but in fact Paris has abandoned the mediation mission." According to him, the adoption of the scandalous document will not affect the positions of Russia and Turkey in the South Caucasus, although it openly calls for it: "This resolution will not affect Russia's stay in the conflict zone," he said. The Russian peacekeepers there ensure peace on earth, but the French army is not even there. In general, this is just a stupid trick, the result of which will hurt the interests of Paris. It is clear that Azerbaijan will draw the appropriate conclusions as to whether France is a partner or a rival. French business may already face certain losses in Azerbaijan, and there are grounds for Baku to react in order to protect national interests.
