STATEMENT from the Ministry on the ecological terror of Armenians against rare trees in Kalbajar

“We have very valuable forests in Kalbajar. There are many deciduous trees. The forests of Kalbajar have a large number of oak, hornbeam, linden, hazelnut, beech, especially bear hazel forests. Even the hazelnut forests are included in the list of forests protected by the state of Azerbaijan. The statement came from Hikmet Alizadeh, head of the State Ecological Security Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, speaking about the forest areas of Kalbajar region returned to Azerbaijan on November 25, according to a tripartite statement signed by the President of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia on November 10. . He noted that the total area of the hazelnut forest before the occupation was 968 hectares, which is rare in other forests of Azerbaijan.
It grows in Kalbajar, at an altitude of 1500-2100 meters above sea level: "Here, hazelnut trees reach a height of 25 meters and a diameter of 50-120 centimeters. We will provide information on their condition after a detailed monitoring. " "For 30 years, we have observed the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and, in parallel, environmental terrorism. This terror was carried out both in the territory of Karabakh and in the territory of neighboring Azerbaijan. These include deforestation, burning, destruction, as well as illegal exploitation of geological, gold and precious metals, destruction and pollution of water bodies. The enemy closed the water basins there in the summer months, leaving other regions of Azerbaijan without water, and in the winter the water basins opened and the lands were flooded. The hated Armenians did this by being hostile to nature. Of course, Kalbajar was not left out of this.
Thousands of years old rock monuments have been destroyed, paintings and notes have been erased, destroyed and even tried to be Armenianized. The whole world watched the destruction of houses and forests by the Armenians when they left the Kalbajar region, "Alizade said. The ministry official added that information about environmental terrorist acts committed by Armenians will be provided to the world: "As stated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the vandalism committed by Armenians in the territories of Karabakh will be assessed. International organizations will be invited, the damage will be calculated and the world will be informed about it. An appeal has been made to international courts and the issue of compensation will be raised.
