The English spelling of Nagorno-Karabakh is being changed

The word Nagorno-Karabakh is currently written in English as "Nagorno-Karabakh" under the influence of the Russian language, but the spelling of this word in this version is incorrect. The statement came from Baba Maharramli, deputy director of the Institute of Linguistics, Gadin.Net reports. According to him, Nagorno-Karabakh is written in Russian as "Nagorno-Karabakh". This toponym is also incorrectly presented in English as "Nagorno-Karabakh" under the influence of the Russian language.
Maharramli added that according to the "Rules of national transliteration of geographical names in the Azerbaijani language into Russian and English" submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval, it is proposed to write Nagorno-Karabakh in English as "Daghlig Garabagh". It was suggested that the word "Upper Karabakh" be written not as "Upper Garabagh", but as "Yukhari Garabagh": "The name of the toponym must be preserved. Therefore, it would be correct to write the toponym of Nagorno-Karabakh in the proposed form.
