Yagut Garayeva, head of the Disease Control and Prevention Department of the Medical Territorial Units Management Unit (MEDICINE), addressed the population. He said at a virtual press conference dedicated to the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week that the purchase of broad-spectrum antibiotics should be banned so that people do not hear it from anyone:
"In Europe, patients with mild symptoms at home are not given any medicine. If there are vitamins, trace elements and fever, then medication is given. It is the same with us. No medicine is given to patients with mild symptoms. Garayeva stressed that in our country, patients are given antiviral, antibiotic and hormonal drugs, which leads to incorrect treatment, aggravation of patients and hospitalization in severe cases.
