President: "If the enemy did not accept my conditions, he would be destroyed here"

"I want to emphasize once again that the people of Agdam have been waiting for this day for many years - for almost 30 years." The statement came from President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Agdam, Gadin.Net reports quoting AzerTaj. According to the President, he felt that as our cities, districts and villages were liberated from occupation, the people of Agdam also thought about when their villages, the city of Aghdam, would be liberated: "Jabrayil was released, Fizuli was released, Hadrut was released, Zangilan, Gubadli, Sugovushan, Shusha were released, and probably the people of Aghdam thought why Aghdam was not liberated? Now I can say that.
But I wanted to convey this to the people of Agdam in some form, but they also understand that I could not do it during the war. There are five lines of defense. The enemy was waiting for us here. We could not allow ourselves to attack from where the enemy was waiting. We kept a large enough military unit in this direction so that the enemy's military forces would stay here and not go elsewhere. After the liberation of Fizuli, Hadrut, most of the Khojavend region and Shusha, of course, we had already taken the direction to the city of Aghdam, and it was ordered that the next direction was Aghdam. The enemy also knows and already admits that if they did not accept my conditions for the liberation of our lands, they would perish here. Because we were coming to Agdam. It is too early to reveal all the secrets of the war. Very interesting issues will emerge in the future. But today I can say with full confidence that the Agdam operation was planned. We would take Aghdam anyway. But there would be losses, in large numbers. Therefore, after liberating Shusha and more than 70 villages on November 9, the enemy's back was broken, he surrendered, raised a white flag, complied with my conditions and admitted his defeat.
