The statement came from Sergei Kravchenko, chairman of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine and military epidemiologist, in an interview with Media.Az.
He said that in this situation, the population must follow all the norms and rules set by the state. "Of course, a lot has been said about this, but it is important to follow personal hygiene measures, maintain social distance and avoid going to crowded places. It is necessary to reduce the burden on medical institutions. We need to think about family, friends, and just others. Only a number of non-specific preventive measures will help. He even noted that the incidence of ARVs (Acute Respiratory Diseases) in the northern countries, where the flu season has begun, has dropped sharply compared to previous years due to non-specific preventive measures. The expert also noted another important point in this regard - the interference (weakening of the development of one virus by another - ed.). "If one cell is infected by a virus, such as COVID-19, the other has nothing to do with it. We see this in the northern countries as well, "he said.
The epidemiologist also touched upon the issue of the "third wave" of the coronavirus, which has been frequently discussed in recent days. He said there was no such thing: There is no "third wave". Let's forget that. There was no wave anywhere. In some countries, there has been a weak increase in infection, and in others there has been a dynamic increase, ”he said. As for military operations, Sergei Kravchenko stressed that this is an additional risk factor that leads to an increase in infections. "Civilians must help their soldiers and wounded in hospitals. The main help is not to infect yourself and the military, especially the wounded. The civilian population is the backbone of many things, the second front, ”he concluded.
