At today's meeting of the Milli Majlis, the draft law on amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the establishment of orders and medals of the Republic of Azerbaijan" in connection with the establishment of orders and medals of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the occasion of victory in the Great Patriotic War" was discussed.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building Ali Huseynli informed about the bill. He said that currently Azerbaijan has 10 orders and 64 medals: "President Ilham Aliyev has proposed to establish two more orders, 15 medals and a new name. At present, the highest award of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the Order of Heydar Aliyev.
It is proposed that the second highest award be the Order of Victory, as well as the establishment of the Order of Karabakh. As for the medals, the "Hero of the Patriotic War" medal is of special importance. This medal is a badge of honor of the name of the Patriotic War. The title of "Hero of the Patriotic War" will be awarded for the implementation of combat missions to completely defeat the enemy forces. Persons named Heroes of the Great Patriotic War will enjoy the benefits provided by law. This will be reflected in future bills. "
