The quarantine regime in Azerbaijan has been extended until December 28 - OFFICIAL

Currently, there is a high dynamics of infection with a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the world. For this reason, appropriate measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus, and many countries apply strict quarantine rules. In this regard, the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a statement. In order to prevent the spread of the virus in Azerbaijan and its possible consequences, the term of the special quarantine regime in the country will be extended until December 28, 2020 at 06:00. However, due to the high dynamics of COVID-19 infection in recent days, it was decided to apply the following bans: - In Sheki, Lankaran, Gakh, Zagatala, Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Masalli, Ismayilli, Guba, Khachmaz districts, where the strict quarantine regime is applied, the period of these measures is extended until 06:00 on December 7, 2020;
- Restrictions on passenger transportation in the Baku metro will be extended until 06:00 on December 28, 2020; - From 00:00 on November 21, 2020 to 06:00 on December 28, 2020, public transport will be suspended on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the country; - On Saturdays and Sundays from 00:00 on November 21, 2020 to 06:00 on December 28, 2020, on-site services will be suspended in all other areas, except for vital activities, including pharmacies and grocery stores; From November 21, 2020, during the period of validity of the special quarantine regime, the use of appropriate medical masks in all indoor and outdoor spaces across the country is mandatory. The control regime for the use of masks is tightened. We would like to remind you that failure to use a medical mask in appropriate places or to wear it in accordance with the required norms creates liability in accordance with the law.
Given the current sanitary-epidemiological situation in the world, including Azerbaijan, it is recommended that people over the age of 65 who are at high risk do not leave their homes unnecessarily. Institutions and organizations operating in the private sector and other areas are also recommended to reduce the number of employees to 30% and transfer other employees to remote work. We once again call on all individuals to strictly adhere to the existing quarantine requirements in the fight against the COVID-19 virus, to avoid contact with outsiders when necessary, and to observe social distance indoors and outdoors.
