The struggle of Azerbaijan against the long-standing enemy occupation, which began on September 27, and the condition of our historical monuments, which were destroyed against the background of our country's victory over Armenia, are also revealed. One of them is the house museum of the famous 19th century Azerbaijani poet, daughter of the last Karabakh khan Mehdigulu khan Javanshir, granddaughter of Ibrahimkhalil khan Khurshudbanu Natava. Let's take a look at the history of the house museum against the background of the newly released photos of the house museum, Qadin.Net reports quoting Oxu.Az. In her father's palace, Natava's house, popularly known as "Durru yekta" (Single pearl), was a historical and architectural monument of the 18th century. An interesting proposal was made in 1980 regarding the museum, located in one of the most prominent places in Shusha, the cradle of Azerbaijani culture. Thus, in 1980, the idea of opening a Karabakh branch of the Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi named after Khurshidbanu Natavan of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR in Shusha was born. However, the overhaul of the building was possible only in 1987.
The first director of the branch was Namig Babayev, a physiologist, candidate of philological sciences, member of the USSR Writers' Union. He attracted business youth to the museum and formed a talented team in the branch. Doctor of Philology, Professor, excellent connoisseur of the literary environment of Karabakh Nazim Akhundov did not spare his help from the young team. At the same time, against the background of the aggressive policy launched by Armenia against Azerbaijan, the museum's exhibition halls were overhauled and put into operation. It is planned to include poets and writers working in Shusha in the 19th century in the museum. For this purpose, contacts were established with people from Lachin, Kalbajar, Zangilan, Jabrayil, Aghdam, Gubadli, Beylagan, Fizuli and all surrounding regions to collect the necessary materials. Since its establishment, the museum has collected rich literary materials, exhibits, personal belongings of writers and poets, ancient books and manuscripts. In order to reflect the literary environment of Karabakh, an attempt was made to collect various household items from ancient times. However, on May 8, 1992, the city of Shusha was occupied by Azerbaijan's hated neighbors. The enemy, trying to erase the history of Azerbaijan from our sacred lands, tried to destroy everything that sheds light on our history, and thus aimed to erase our traces from those lands. Natava's house, once the cradle of culture, also received its "share" of this savagery. It is also clear from the current photos of the cultural monument that the enemy completely destroyed it. Photographs of the museum before and after the occupation of Shusha clearly show this vandalism:
