The foundation of the road to Shusha, the historical land of Azerbaijan, has been laid. Today is the third day that work in this direction continues. The statement came from spokesman for the Azerbaijan State Agency of Motor Roads (AAYDA) Anar Najafli, clarifying President Ilham Aliyev's order on the design and construction of the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway. Najafli said that the construction of the road to Shusha is underway: "It is planned that the road will be wide enough. It is estimated that the road will be 101.5 km long in connection with future projects in the Karabakh region.
It will consist of 6 lanes with three departures and three arrivals. The main part of the road will have four lanes. The two side lanes will be a wide service road and are intended for the movement of special equipment and heavy trucks. It is planned to prepare and hand over the road for a year and a half on the basis of a special order of the President. Despite the fact that the road is 101.5 km long, due to the presence of cliffs and mountainous areas, after dividing the road into parts, conditions will be created for the activities of contractors in the area. He also noted that AYDA will be closely involved in the completion of work in the area as soon as possible: "We have enough bases," he said. The road to Shusha starts from Ahmadbeyli village of Fizuli region, we have a highway to this village. At the same time, there was the occupied Hajigabul-Bahramtapa-Minjivan road, and design work has already begun on the reconstruction of this 118 km road.
The project will be considered after its completion, and work will begin there shortly after the decision is made. "Although the construction of the road is planned for a year and a half, it does not mean that there will be no traffic in that direction during this period. No, during the construction of the road, after the completion of the two lanes, conditions will be created for the movement of vehicles, "the AYDA official said at the end. It should be noted that President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on measures to design and build the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway. According to the decree, 50 million manat was initially allocated to the Azerbaijan State Agency of Motor Roads from the President's Reserve Fund envisaged in the 2020 state budget for the design and construction of this road.
