For the first time in Russia, a lockdown was applied in one of the regions. According to Kommersant, we are talking about the Republic of Buryatia. The reason for the two-week restriction was the situation with the coronavirus. It is reported that all commercial and catering establishments, including shopping centers, cafes and restaurants, as well as beauty salons and fitness clubs, will be closed. Restrictions do not apply to catering establishments, grocery stores, pharmacies, communication salons, as well as retail outlets of essential goods in the premises of enterprises and hotels. The local government said the decision was made due to a lack of space in medicines and hospitals. Businesses have been promised tax breaks to support the economy. The restrictions will not be extended after November 30.
