STATEMENT on the shot down Russian helicopter from Peskov

"Baku's immediate reaction to the shot down helicopter allowed Moscow to accept this apology." The statement came from Russian President's Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports. He called the incident a disaster and said the deaths of the two servicemen were very painful for everyone.
"Azerbaijanis, the immediate reaction of the President of Azerbaijan and the announcement of their readiness to impartially investigate the conditions and punish the perpetrators, allowed to accept this apology," Peskov said. A Russian Mi-24 helicopter was shot down near the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on November 9. Two crew members were killed and one was injured in the incident. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has admitted that the helicopter was mistakenly shot down by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and said that Baku is ready to pay compensation to Moscow.
