The peacekeeping contingent is based on units of the 15th Special Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Central Military District. What tasks will Russian peacekeepers perform?
The main task is to monitor the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. What weapons do you have? Each soldier of the brigade has a set of "Ratnik" combat equipment. Three years ago, the brigade began to switch to BMD-4M paratroopers and BTR-MDM Rakushka armored personnel carrier. There are also modern electronic warfare tools for radio electronic combat of peacekeepers. In addition, the brigade was armed with Russian-made Orlan-10 drones. These UAVs provide air reconnaissance at maximum distances (120 kilometers).
What are the responsibilities of peacekeepers?
The main task of peacekeepers is to reconcile the warring parties. For this purpose, they should do the following: - monitor the compliance of the conflicting parties with the agreement; - prevention of armed conflicts; - to prevent the transfer of weapons to the participants of the conflict by foreign forces; - to settle disputes and prevent provocations; - to ensure the protection of delegations; - to help the civilian population.
