Today, President Ilham Aliyev shared on his Twitter account the liberation of a number of our territories.One of the liberated villages is Azykh village of Khojavend region, which is one of the oldest settlements in Azerbaijan and the world.First Deputy Minister of Culture, Acting Minister of Culture Anar Karimov also shared on Twitter about the Azykh cave in the village of Azykh.
“Azykh Cave was flooded by Mammadali Huseynov in 1960 and is the oldest human settlement in the world. It was occupied by the Armenian armed forces in 1992. They conducted illegal excavations in violation of the 1954 Hague Convention. At present, Azykh cave has been liberated.
