Oversight of the US Senate may be postponed until 2021

In the US state of Georgia, where the re-election took place, none of the candidates won 50 percent of the vote in the race for two seats in the Senate. According to the Associated Press, it is likely that the question of which of the two parties will win a majority in the upper house of the legislature will be postponed until next year.
The second round may take place on January 5, 2021. In Georgia, two senators are elected at once, as Republican John Isaacson announced his resignation due to illness. As a result, the state holds both senatorial and early elections. Republican David Perdue and Democrat John Ossoff will compete for one of the seats in the second round. The second candidate is Republican Kelly Loffler and Democrat Rafael Warnock. The agency believes that Republicans and Democrats have already won 48 seats in the Senate and are at the same level in the elections. With the exception of two locations in Georgia, the results remain uncertain in North Carolina and Alaska. In such a situation, in order to get a majority in the Senate, each party must win at least two seats, provided that they win the presidential election. In this case, the vice president, who is a member of the party, will also have the right to vote in the Senate.
