STATEMENT from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the firing on our Honorary Consulate in Kharkov

At about 2.30 pm, the building of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kharkov, Ukraine, came under fire. According to the Foreign Ministry, six shots were fired at the doors and windows of the consulate. There were no casualties among the consulate staff as no one was in the building at night.
It should be noted that the cameras of the Honorary Consulate recorded that the attacker was two people. A criminal case has been launched by the Kharkiv city police in connection with the attack on the consulate building. Given the recent threats posed by radical Armenian forces to Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions abroad, this attack on our Honorary Consulate in Kharkov should be seen in the context of these threats.
We strongly condemn the threatening and life-threatening attacks of radical Armenian forces on Azerbaijani diplomats abroad, as well as members of the local Azerbaijani community. Relevant agencies of our country will interact and cooperate with local law enforcement agencies in foreign countries to bring to justice those responsible for such criminal acts against Azerbaijani citizens and members of the local Azerbaijani community abroad.
