With the approach of the Azerbaijani army to victory and the liberation of Karabakh from the occupiers, the nerves of the Armenian military-political leadership are strained, and there are various conflicts between the "Karabakh clan" and the field commanders. As previously reported, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan strictly forbade the transfer of control of the "Karabakh clan" to large military units so that at some point they do not turn their weapons towards him.
According to the Armenian segment of Facebook, a serious confrontation took place between Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan and a representative of the "Karabakh clan" General Vitaly Balasanyan in Lachin a few days ago. Thus, V. Balasanyan came to the headquarters of the Minister of Defense and accused the military leadership of a tragic defeat in the war in Karabakh. In addition, Balasanyan issued an ultimatum to Tonoyan, demanding his resignation from the post of Defense Minister and his appeal to N. Pashynyan for his appointment as Defense Minister. In turn, Tonoyan responded rudely to Balasanyan, advising him not to interfere in the affairs of the ministry and ordered the guards to expel the general from the headquarters. Outraged by the response, Balasanyan attacked Tonoyan and slapped him. High-ranking officers who intervened in the case twisted Balasanyan's arms and took him out of the headquarters. According to the report, D. Tonoyan immediately contacted N. Pashinyan and demanded that he take the harshest measures against V. Balasanyan, who was ashamed. It is noted that on the same day Balasanyan met with the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. They agreed to join efforts to overthrow the current Armenian government "in order to save Artsakh."
