Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope for the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"As you know, Russia is doing everything in its power to end the conflict in the South Caucasus and is trying to protect the lives of people who oppose each other and at the same time aim at each other to achieve their goals. We strongly believe that a peaceful solution to the conflict could be found as a result of the negotiation process, "Putin said at a meeting with representatives of religious associations in Russia on National Unity Day.He stressed that Russia is in contact with both Armenia and Azerbaijan: "I hope that we will achieve a result that will satisfy all people living in the region."
