STATEMENT of Azerbaijani NGOs on the use of banned weapons by Armenia

Seeing that the crimes against humanity committed by Armenia do not intimidate the Azerbaijani people and are determined to liberate their lands from occupation, they have resorted to new and more dangerous methods and provocations. The statement came from Azerbaijani NGOs. According to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, a large amount of phosphorus cargo was brought to the defense units of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 37th Rifle Division of the 1st General Army of the Armenian Armed Forces in the direction of the occupied Khojavend. was.

It is believed that the purpose of the Armenian military-political leadership in bringing phosphorus-containing ammunition to these areas is primarily to use it against units of the Azerbaijani Army. On the other hand, it is to spread misinformation that the ammunition was allegedly scattered by Azerbaijan, ”the statement said. The statement says that Armenia's propaganda machine has already started to lay the groundwork for future provocations by spreading false and misleading information about the Azerbaijani Army's use of white phosphorus weapons. "Today, the Armenian armed forces deliberately started a fire in the forests of Shusha using banned white phosphorus and tried to throw it at Azerbaijan. Armenia's use of banned phosphorous weapons is another gross violation of the relevant international conventions and a terrible act of war crime.

We believe that the relevant international organizations should not be indifferent to this war crime committed by Armenia and give it an adequate assessment. At the same time, the international community must call on the Armenian military and political leadership to stop committing international crimes for which they are responsible before history and law, to leave the occupied Azerbaijani territories thinking about the future of its people, and not to impede peace and security in the region. The statement was signed by more than 30 NGO leaders
