The State Commission on Captives, Missing and Hostages of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a statement. The information says: "According to the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as a humanitarian step of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Commission on Captives and Missing and Hostage-Taken Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan unilaterally released 85-year-old Yevgeniya Babayan, a civilian of Armenian descent. He crossed the Azerbaijani-Georgian border on October 28 through the mediation of the Committee (ICRC) and handed it over to the other side on the Georgian-Armenian border.
Misha Melkumyan, 84, who was rescued by Azerbaijani soldiers after his compatriots left Hadrut without help, was again inhumane and refused to be extradited at the last moment. On October 29, with the participation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Commission through the OSCE and the ICRC unilaterally handed over the bodies of 30 Armenian servicemen to the Armenian side in the direction of Alibeyli village of Tovuz region of Azerbaijan. There was no incident during the humanitarian process.
