"Siberian cholera" has spread in Dagestan's Garabudagkend region

 Five local residents were hospitalized in Kakamahi village of Dagestan's Garabudagkend region on suspicion of anthrax.

According to Lenta.ru, this was reported by the Ministry of Health.

All patients were kept in isolation in separate boxes of the infectious diseases department of the local hospital.

Infections were registered on October 24-26. At present, 14 more people are at risk. They will be under medical supervision for eight days.

At the same time, the inspection of the villagers continues.

The last time anthrax was recorded in Dagestan was in October 2019.

Anthrax is a particularly dangerous disease. Infection can lead to intoxication, skin ulcers, lung symptoms, and signs of food poisoning.
